Train with an Olympian. Run with purpose.
Iโm Moโath Alkhawaldeh โ Olympic marathoner, solo coach, and believer in your untapped potential.
From First Step to Finish Line
What started with a spontaneous race in Amman became a journey to the Olympic stage. My story is built on discipline, self-belief, and a commitment to excellence.
- I started running in 2008 in Amman, Jordan. My first race wasnโt plannedโI signed up after seeing a poster, without any real preparation, and showed up wearing Converse sneakers.
- I didnโt know much about running at the time, but that moment revealed something important to meโthat potential can exist anywhere, even where you least expect it.
- Since that first race, my journey has taken me from local competitions to representing Jordan on the world stage, including the 2024 Paris Olympics.
- Running also gave me the opportunity to pursue my education in the United States, where I completed a degree in accounting and a masterโs in human resources and labor management. Along the way, I trained under some of the sportโs top Olympic coaches, which shaped my understanding of high-performance training and competition.
- Coaching, for me, is an extension of my own journey. I understand what it means to start without resources, to figure things out along the way, and to grow through experience.
- My approach is focused on building strong foundationsโphysically and mentallyโwhile adapting to each athleteโs individual goals and circumstances. I aim to provide guidance that is structured, practical, and grounded in real experience at the highest level of the sport.
- Everything I do as an athlete and coach is guided by these key principles:
- Fairness and accessโevery athlete should have a real opportunity to grow, regardless of where they start.
- Inclusion and representationโtalent exists everywhere, across all regions and disciplines.
- Excellence through disciplineโprogress comes from consistency, commitment, and belief.
- Beyond competition, Iโve been involved in sport-for-peace initiatives across the Middle East and North Africa, where running becomes a way to connect people and create shared purpose.
- I also care deeply about athlete representation and making sure athletesโ voices are part of the conversations that shape the future of our sport.
- Over the years, my work as both an athlete and advocate has been recognized internationally.
- In 2015, I was named one of the โ50 Most Influential People in Runningโ by Runnerโs World for my work supporting athletes and building inclusive running communities.
- In 2016, I was selected for the Rodale 100, recognizing individuals making a positive global impact through health and wellness.
- In 2017, I received the Athletes in Excellence Award from the Foundation for Global Sports Development for my work in youth mentorship and community outreach.
Today, I continue to compete at an elite level while working with athletes around the worldโhelping them grow, improve, and move closer to their own goals.
